Zion

first view of the valley
found a campsite by the Virgin River
47 degrees but nice to be clean

drinks in the field

rotelli with tomato sauce under the Watchman
the height of the walls was amazing
en route to the top
weird rock everywhere
the walking was vertiginous
Sue happy to be momentarily in chains
looking down the Zion Valley
we climbed this rocky spine called Angel's Landing
the view south
and north

Susan negotiating
the Virgin River canyon...
gnarly

requires wading
very cold water
and spooky
on the way out of the canyon, we ran into families of big horn sheep on the slickrock

and on to Bryce

Big Bend to Marfa

we thought RV's were lame until we met this
march is flower month in the desert
wild lupine everywhere
the Rio Grande before it disappears into Boquillos Canyon

a sentinel at the head of the canyon
Boquillos
Mexicans wade across the river and leave these weird little pop-up trading posts

the top of the canyon is 2000' above the river
eastern wall of Boquillos Canyon
Susan loves canyoneering
camping in the desert

Sue preps for another hot day in the Chihuahuan Desert

good camo... and they're fast

air drying the Twizzlers
