Prince Rupert to Ucluelet


Inland Passage from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy, Vancouver Island

welcome bed at midnight after a 16 hour boat ride

hike in to San Josef Bay needed some gear


path was clear enough

wolves seemed like a long shot...


but the slugs were everywhere


temperate rainforest in British Columbia has been reduced by 70%



a young one hit the duff at 800 + years
                            

but there are still a few pet trees here and there


San Josef Bay,  perfectly isolated



with sea stacks

big jellies

and endless space to camp

 
logs to put your drinks down

 wilderness first aid

truly sad to leave

  1. what a trip! We ate at the Judges Place in Port Alberni, and watched an international sand castle competition in Ucuelet. Wonderful beaces up north but the logging is terrible.
